The Workforce Innovation in Regional Economic Development (WIRED) grant awarded to Metro Denver concluded on January 31, 2010. The $15 million federal grant was awarded to the region to enable a regional coalition to research and produce a long-term strategic plan to prepare local workers for high-skill, high-wage jobs in industries including aerospace, bioscience, energy and information technology-software.
