The Workforce Investment Act is a program devoted to helping youth 16 - 21 reach their employment, education, and personal goals. WIA advocates for youth, providing mentorship opportunities as well as guidance and counseling. WIA youth will learn to prepare for the future by setting goals and participating in activities to achieve personal growth.  If you or someone you know is between the ages of 16 and 21, motivated, goal-driven, focused and ready for change, WIA can help!

WIA assists youth in meeting their employment goals by providing workshops in:

  • Resume Preparation
  • Interview techniques
  • Job Readiness and Retention
  • Leadership Development

WIA can assist youth in finding employment opportunities such as:

  • Work Experience (both paid and unpaid)
  • Summer Employment
  • Job Referrals

For youth motivated to meet their educational goals WIA provides:

  • Tutoring
  • Math and Reading Literacy Classes
  • GED Preparation and Testing
  • Assistance with Reengagement in Educational Programs

To participate in WIA, certain documentation must be provided and requirements met.
