Health Care

There are many different health insurance programs and health organizations within the Denver metro area that provide quality care at little or no cost to those in need. The quick reference guide below can help you determine which program can best meet your healthcare needs.

Are you a veteran? If so, click the link below for information on eligibility, enrollment, benefits, and cost of healthcare services through the Department of Veteran’s Affairs: http://www.va.gov/elig/

Medicaid is a federal program that provides health insurance to those who are unable to afford coverage through a private health insurance provider. When state and federal eligibility criteria are met, Medicaid covers families with children, pregnant women, the elderly and people with disabilities. People who are not U.S. citizens can use Medicaid to pay for a life-threatening medical emergency. For Medicaid enrollment information, click http://www.chcpf.state.co.us/elig/Q21.html or contact HealthColorado at 1.888.367.6557.

Colorado Indigent Care Program (CICP): CICP is a state program that provides partial reimbursement to providers offering medical care to eligible underinsured and uninsured residents. Unlike Medicaid, CICP is not a health insurance program. Local hospitals and clinics enroll families into the CICP program and services are restricted to participating hospitals and clinics throughout the state. Eligibility into the Colorado Indigent Care Program is determined upon residency, income and asset requirements. Child Health Care Plan Plus (CHP): CHP+ is an affordable health insurance program for Colorado children. CHP+ provides health insurance coverage for children whose parents earn too much income to qualify for Medicaid, but not enough to afford private health insurance.
