Minority Enterprise Development Week Kicks Off September 15
DENVER- The Denver Office of Economic Development is proud to be a partner of Minority Enterprise Development (MED) Week, Sept. 15-19, 2008. MED Week has been set aside for the last 26 years to honor successful minority entrepreneurs.
Proclaimed by President Reagan in 1982, MED Week is celebrated locally, regionally and nationally. Each year, the President of the United States proclaims National MED Week to recognize outstanding achievements of minority business enterprises and to honor corporations and other institutions that support minority business development.
Over the years, myriad events have paid tribute to minority businesses and the individuals who operate them. Training seminars, empowerment breakfasts, business open houses, trade fairs, award luncheons and banquets are typical of the events that celebrate successful minority entrepreneurs.
