About OED

The Denver Office of Economic Development (OED) operates to create a local environment that stimulates balanced growth through job creation, business assistance, housing options and neighborhood redevelopment through its four divisions.

The Division of Business Development (DBD) is a business resource agency that offers a variety of programs and services to assist new and expanding businesses located within the City and County of Denver. DBD offers regulatory assistance, relocation and expansion services, economic and demographic data, Enterprise Tax-Zone Credit assistance, and international trade assistance for businesses located in Denver or looking to do business in Denver.

The Division of Small Business Opportunity (DSBO) helps promote small and disadvantaged businesses by providing access to contracting opportunities within the City and County of Denver. DSBO offers compliance assistance with city contracts, small business and disadvantaged business ownership certification, and compliance assistance for businesses located at Denver International Airport. DSBO also manages the Denver Business Assistance Center.

The Division of Housing and Neighborhood Development (DHND) facilitates the development of viable urban neighborhoods by providing quality affordable housing, an enhanced living environment, and expanded economic opportunities for low- and moderate-income residents. DHND offers finance assistance for residential housing, technical assistance for neighborhood revitalization, asset management and compliance assistance, and finance assistance for developers.

The Division of Workforce Development (DWD) is a full service employment and training agency meeting the recruiting and training needs of businesses, job seekers and youth throughout the metro area.  DWD has two customer-focused units: the Business & Community Partnerships unit and the Job Seeker Services unit.  DWD’s Business & Community Partnerships unit is primarily designed to assist Denver businesses with finding the right applicant for all available positions. DWD’s Job Seeker Services unit assists job seekers in finding sustainable employment in the Denver metro region.
